Hi Stephanie,
Bridget just celebrated her second birthday so I wanted to write and thank
you for bringing to life the best dog ever! She is so much like Fletcher in
your video. Without therapy dog training, I take her to my psychiatry office
two days a week and she gives love, affection, comfort and fun to all our
patients. She greets each patient at the top of the stairs when they arrive.
She wags and snuggles and kisses them in the waiting room. Then she decides
which patients need her to go with them to the treatment rooms where she
warms their feet, puts her head in their laps and intently looks them in the
eye and listens to their stories. Then she escorts them back to the top of
the stairs. I find patients sitting on the floor in the waiting room with
Bridget in their laps. Some of them tell me that she is all the
psychotherapy that they need! When she's off duty she loves digging and
having zoomies on the beach. She loves playing with our grandchildren too!
She is a constant source of great joy for Dana and me and for hundreds of
people who suffer from mental illness.
